Payton’s Random Rants

Did you watch last night’s debate in Nashville?  I did and I cannot fathom why the media keeps calling it a draw (even Fox News) given the tremendous gaffe by Obama on Pakistan.  Clearly, Obama has no clue what diplomacy is about.  First, he insinuates that Pakistan is still ruled by a ruthless dictator (which is nowhere near the case as Musharof WILLINGLY stepped down after WILLINGLY leaving the army); not to mention the fact that it was George Bush and Condoleeza Rice who kept putting the pressure on Musharof to allow the elections that brought about a western-style change of power in Pakistan.  Next, Obama flat out tells the new Pakistani government that he’s going to invade them.  The NATO coalition in Afghanistan has been coordinating with the Pakistani government on the raids that have been happening despite the blustering of some Generals who happen to be Taliban sympathizers.  John McCain called Obama out on it, and he seemed as shocked as I did that Obama just flat out told Pakistan he’s coming in no matter what. 

Do you want a president who is that irresponsible?  It’s one thing to invade a hostile nation with a dictator who has used WMDs on his own people and refuses to verify that they do not have WMDs any longer versus invading a nation that is considered an ally, has a democratically elected government (with a fair election) and has provided material support to us in our fight with the Taliban.
